Duntroon

After I picked Jell up from the bus terminal :)

In November, Jell came to visit us for a couple of days. We haven't seen her since grade 9 aka haven't seen her for 4 years. Since she was visiting, Barnabas decided to book a cottage for a weekend.

I felt like we needed a success picture after all the things we went through to get there.

The house had many... freaky quirks. We all ended up sleeping in the basement together.

THIS GAME IS THE BEST. These are pictures from our "superhero" round. Barnabas and I were the last two left guessing in this round. Neil and Jell were just laughing at how idiotic we both looked with the same names. I'd pee my pants if I were them.

Mr. Driver deserved a long sleep (...while we pissed our pants from playing)

Good morning.

In a town where no one knows you?

YES. YOU READ THAT RIGHT.

Bear Liao and Neil.

Ever wondered what Wasaga Beach looks like in the fall?

K.

OTW to the beach again. This time with Bryan.

The disadvantage of long hair: It gets in everything, including your friend's ice cream.

What Jell did the whole trip...

Hello.

I promise I'm still alive.

(I find it comical that I'm writing this instead of studying for my Accounting midterm tomorrow. Procrastination at it's finest.)

Dolce Gelato

Went downtown again for some quick shopping with Ann. Went hunting for some boots for her and some casual shoes for me (I feel like we're both always on the hunt for shoes). I was trying on a pair of sparkly Toms when Ann noticed my sock swag. Swag like that is hard to miss :)

Appropriate.

Slice of red velvet cake.

Ann's tiramisu.

Their gelato setup.

Bry's banana+nutella waffle.

Spread what Ann said was cream cheese on the red velvet cake.

Behind the scenes fail shot..... ahem.

She decided to call Bryan to join us for wings dindin. While walking to St. Louis, we found TOYKO SUSHI!!! It's a place that my mom used to take me when I was younger and she's been on the hunt for that place for so long. It felt very nostalgic finding it. It'd be nice to take her there and treat her to a place from the past. Role reversal. Tear jerkingly sweet.

Anyway, our meal at St. Louis left us wanting more. (think: stingy) So we went and found Dolce Gelato. Supernice place, and great service.

Food was kind of meh. The tiramisu had so much powder topping on it that it kind of dried out the rest of the dessert (which was good). The banana + nutella waffle was good. Who can go wrong with a banana + nutella waffle? But it was also just a banana + nutella waffle. Nothing too special that would help me differentiate theirs from say one I could make at home. And the red velvet tasted different from most red velvet cakes that I've tried. This only had the subtle flavour of red velvet and I kept on tasting a strong banana flavour (I thought my spoon has taken on some of the banana flavour from the waffle but at that point I hadn't even tried the waffle yet...). Also, the cake cake wasn't cream cheese.... it was a very sweet something else. (It was okay but I would've preferred cream cheese instead.) The cream cheese was actually turned into a whipped concoction and placed on the side. When I put that on, the cake suddenly tasted AMAZING. (Goes to say that it was meh without it)

This was def. not a review on their gelato, which is obviously what they specialize in, but this is a more of *in case you wanted to try something other than gelato* review. Apparently their gelato is omomomamazing so this is def a place that has to be re-visited.

Blue River

Spent my second day of the year with Peter!

We had a feast at Yonge and Eglinton at Hosu. Hosu never fails me. Their dolsot bibimbap always hits the spot.

Made our way downtown after so Peter could do some shopping errands. I got us lost..... even after repeating "oh, ok. I know. we have to go down here!" many times to Peter. Eventually, we ended up where we were supposed to be (after a following a very long detour). We only stopped twice to warm up. BRAVE SOULS.

Peter ending up buying a guitar as present for a friend (look inside the guitar bag here.) We went and showed it off to her while she was working and while visiting, our 'awesome friend' instincts came out. We decided to take pictures with the guitar at her workplace to tease her. We are awesome friends - read: bitches.

Anyways,
HAPPY 2012.
MAY ALL YOU STAY BLESSED THROUGHOUT THIS YEAR
and pray that our world doesn't before the end of the year.
